How to choose your Sri Lanka circuit?

Sri Lanka fits within a compact island, but mountain roads slow down travel times. A first trip requires a minimum of 12 days to combine the Cultural Triangle, the highlands and the south coast without rushing. Our circuits of 13 to 17 days are the most popular and cover the essentials: Sigiriya, Kandy, Ella, a safari and three nights on the beach. To add the east coast, the north of Jaffna or extend high-altitude hikes, count on a 18 days and more format, more comfortable and allowing time for meaningful encounters.

The different types of circuits

We build three main families of itineraries. Our cultural circuits explore Buddhist sites in depth (Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla) and meetings with monks, with charming accommodations in former colonial homes. Our adventure circuits focus on hikes in the Knuckles, climbing Adam's Peak, rafting near Kitulgala and nights in isolated lodges. Our family circuits adjust the pace for children: scenic trains, wildlife safaris at Udawalawe, cooking workshops and calm beaches on the south coast around Tangalle.

What is the best season?

Two opposing monsoons shape the year. From December to March, the southwest, the highlands and the Cultural Triangle are dry, with 28 to 32°C in the plains and 15 to 20°C in Nuwara Eliya. This is high season, ideal for blue whales at Mirissa. From May to September, the east coast (Trincomalee, Pasikuda) has fine weather while the southwest receives the monsoon. April and October remain travelable with occasional showers, and offer greener nature, fewer crowds and adjusted rates.
